Position: Auto Electrician (Automobile)

Overview of Job Vacancy at Kia Motors Nigeria

The Auto Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in vehicles, ensuring they function optimally. Key responsibilities include:

Performing maintenance tasks such as fixing kick starters, alternators, and other key electrical components.
Identifying and rectifying electrical faults in vehicles.
Upgrading Electronic Control Units (ECU) and programming transmitter keys.
Calibrating steering columns and carrying out air bleeding on the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
Replacing and programming airbag modules.
Repairing and replacing audio systems, electrical components, fans, horns, ignition keys, and fuel pumps.
Conducting comprehensive electrical checks, including headlights, brake lights, and other essential systems, under the supervision of senior team members.
Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams while effectively utilizing the Global Diagnostic System (GDS).
Maintaining proper diagnostic procedures and identifying necessary spare parts for repairs.
Ensuring standard Fixed Repair Time (FRT) is followed for all assigned tasks.
Collecting electrical components and materials required for vehicle diagnostics with appropriate guidance from superiors.
Estimating repair costs and submitting reports to superiors for further instructions.
Conducting post-repair tests to ensure vehicle performance and functionality.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the workplace.
Coordinating effectively with operational staff during repair and maintenance work.
Ensuring that tools and workspaces are well-maintained and in good condition.
Adhering strictly to company safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Possess an HND, OND, SSCE, GCE, or NECO qualification.
Have 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience in automobile electrical repairs and diagnostics.
Demonstrate strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of vehicle electrical systems.
Exhibit good communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Show commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks undertaken.
