The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) develops a fundamental set of problem-solving abilities, including estimation, computation, approximation, modeling, data analysis, and statistics.  

The elective review phase provides students with the opportunity to utilize these skills in some of the most exciting fields of science.  

There are no registration fees for candidates selected for the Master’s degree program.  

Successful applicants are awarded comprehensive scholarships that cover tuition, accommodation, meals, and travel costs.  

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Scholarship includes full tuition coverage along with stipends to assist with accommodation and living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria for the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Scholarship 2025

To be eligible for the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Scholarship, candidates must:  

• Have a 4-year university degree in mathematics or another science/engineering discipline that includes a substantial mathematics component, or expect to obtain one by the start date of AIMS training.  
• Exhibit strong mathematics, leadership, and community service skills in their records.  
• Women are particularly encouraged to apply.
